Have you joined our Rainbow Resource Scheme? We offer a Rainbow Resource card to all children and young people aged between 0-25 years, with a Special Educational Need and/ or Disability (SEND) or an additional need, living across Bath and North East Somerset.
Who is eligible to join the scheme?
Your child/young person will be eligible for a Rainbow Resource card if the meet any of the following criteria:
Has an Education, Health and/or Care Plan (EHCP);
In receipt of Disabled Living Allowance (DLA);
Receives Band C Inclusion Support Funding.
Please note we may ask for evidence on the above if required.
Why join the scheme?
It’s completely free, and will provide you with a wallet sized card confirming your child's Special Educational Need and/or disability. This may then entitle you to access an existing concession on offer and discreet recognition in the event you find yourself needing support from staff at the attraction/venue.
We are continually growing and contacting attractions and organisations across the South West inviting them to support ths scheme. The full list of current participants can be found by clicking here. If you have any suggestions of places for us to approach to invite them to accept the card, please do let us know.
What do we need to know?
We will need only basic information, and this information will be held securely by Bath and North East Somerset Council with access limited to authorised staff. Your information will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
By registering you child's details they will be included on Bath and North East Somerset's Disabled Children's Register, which each Local Authority is required to hold in accordance with the Children's Act 1989. Inclusion on this list is voluntary, and the Disabled Children's Register helps the Local Authority and local Health Organisations to understand more about the number of young people living with a SEND or Disability in Bath and North East Somerset, and the level of need they have. Access to the Disabled Children's Register will be limited to authorised staff only.
