About the Organisation

St Martin’s Garden offers a unique environment with the main school, Children’s Centre and Margaret Coates Centre working in close partnership with children, parents and professionals alike. The school has many opportunities to offer both children and parents alike. Our vast site allows for a diverse and exciting range of teaching and learning which excites, engages and motivates.

How do you aim to meet the unique needs of the child?

All lessons are inclusive with adjustments made depending on need. Carefully planned transition programmes are set for individuals working with the previous/next setting and or previous/next key stage/class within school.

Induction programmes - home visits, pre-school visits & GetSet.

How do you promote positive relationships and ensure good, ongoing communication with families?

Open door policy
Senior staff available for consultation, including SENCo and Assistant head teacher for pastoral concern
Sharing of IEPs, completed 3 times a year with copies sent home
Parents evening are held in terms 2 and 4 with reports being issued in term 6 with an invitation to discuss
Regular meetings to review progress and areas for development, including Annual Reviews for Children with Education and Health Care Plans (Statements)
Parents are regularly invited to school to join with the learning- ‘Grab a Grown-up’ days, for celebration assemblies and on all special occasions.
Parents are invited to meet with any external agency involved with, or needed for, their child
Sharing of reports from external agencies
Log book communications- home/school
Coffee mornings with Senior leaders, including SEND staff
