About the Organisation

Our play schemes provide days of adventure for disabled children and young people. The Keynsham holiday play scheme enables children and young people aged between 5-19 resident in BANES to have stimulating inclusive play with the emphasis on the young people having fun and developing their confidence. There’s an offer of different activities including: music, arts and crafts, bikes and scooters, outdoor and sensory play, films, TV and computer games, and trips out.

It gives children the opportunity to interact with other children and to engage in active, creative and sensory play. It provides families & carers with a short break in the school holidays.

How do you aim to meet the unique needs of the child?

When coming into our service, we meet with all young people and their families and go through our Universal Referral Form, finding out everything about the young person, their interests and their needs. We use this document to help us plan our playscheme to suit the individual needs of all of the young people attending.

How do you promote positive relationships and ensure good, ongoing communication with families?

We are always available to meet with or talk to famililes and young people regarding the service they receive and take time to talk to all families at the beginning and end of playscheme sessions. We send out quarterly surveys to families and young people to gain valuable feedback from them on what we are providing to ensure we are meeting their needs and feed back to them what we have done in relation to their feedback.
