About the Organisation
The Inclusive Futures (IF) project is a national scheme devised by the Youth Sport Trust based within 8 host cities around the UK. The University of Bath’s Sports Training Village is the hub site for the IF project in the South West region. The project aims to use leadership and volunteering opportunities in sport with a special emphasis on inclusion to help achieve its main goals.
The project has two main roles, both roles are made up of leaders both with and without disabilities to work inclusively together. The volunteer team is made up from anybody aged 13 upwards, and our mentor team is made up of older leaders (sixth form and University students) that aid our younger volunteers and help run the various inclusive clubs. Both volunteers and mentors are given the opportunities and skills to start up clubs in their local community and school, attend upskill days and camps, meet and work with Inclusive Futures Paralympic ambassadors as well as volunteer at major sporting events.
Each of the 8 host cities has a Regional Athlete Ambassador, our ambassador is Paralympic swimmer Kate Grey, who has also recently been appointed the National ambassador for the project.
