About the Organisation

The Life Project is a Christian charity that promotes and protects the health and well-being of people with learning disabilities and their families. The Life Project was started by a group of Christian families caring for their young adults with learning disabilities.

We became a charity in 2011 and the vision for our work is a lifelong commitment to people with learning disabilities. Our mission and ethos is rooted in Christian principles and we believe that in God's eyes everybody is 'fearfully and wonderfully made'. (Psalm 139:14).

We provide a wide range of activities for children and adults with learning disabilities and for their families and carers offering opportunities to:
• discover and develop new talents
• develop life and work skills
• receive respite and support
• pursue friendships and faith, and
• express their uniqueness to the world around them

THE OLD ACORN BARN
We run day-time activity sessions for adults with learning disabilities at this beautiful rural location in Englishcombe village. Our ‘makers’ can choose from a variety of activities on offer in our art/craft room, kitchen and workshop. They make and sell plant supports and use the produce they have grown at a local allotment to create delicious dishes and preserves. For further information contact: sarah@lifeprojectbath.org.uk

PARENT CARER DROP-IN
Our Parent Carer Drop-In sessions are for carers who want to find some space and time away from their caring roles. They offer a chance to become part of a supportive network of people who understand the challenges of caring for those with learning and other disabilities. A cup of coffee and some tasty treats are always on offer and those who attend can destress by joining in with an exercise or pilates class during the session. Play space is also available for pre-schoolers. For further information contact: fiona@lifeprojectbath.org.uk

SPRINGS
Springs is a fellowship group for adults from across the Bath area which meets fortnightly on Monday evenings. Building friendships by sharing news over a cuppa, worshipping (often using Makaton signing) and praying for one another creates a special time for everyone. For further information contact: sarah@lifeprojectbath.org.uk

MINI SPRINGS
An inclusive fellowship group for families with children aged 0-11 who have additional needs. An afternoon of play and fun with singing, stories and crafts in the context of worship. Parents can join in or enjoy coffee and chat with other parents. For further information contact: info@lifeprojectbath.org.uk

SOCIALS
A programme of bi-monthly activities for those we support plus friends and family members. Rambles, barn dancing, bowling and BBQs plus an annual curry evening all make for fun times and fellowship. For further information contact: info@lifeprojectbath.org.uk
