About the Organisation
The workers in this team have skills, knowledge and experience to support and assist people with poor hearing and/or vision. Some staff are trained in British Sign Language, and we also have a rehabilitation officer who specialises in working with visually impaired people.
The workers in this team have skills, knowledge and experience to support and assist people who are:
•Have an acquired hearing loss
•Have both visual and hearing impairment – dual sensory loss
Our Hearing and Vision Service:
•Provides advice and information
•Discusses the impact of sensory loss on everyday life e.g. communication, getting around safely, daily living tasks, keeping in touch
•Aims to maintain or regain independence, safety and quality of life
•Builds on abilities and finds ways of managing difficult tasks
•May offer training, care or support services, or equipment to maintain independence (please note, there may be a charge)
•Offers support to carers

Please note that referrals can only be made with the permission of the person wanting to use the service.
